After reading through many many threads, asking some questions off line, etc I wanted to confirm and ask a question.
Paint (Lacquer)
Duplicolor Super Red II
Duplicolor Wimbledon white or regular white?
Duplicolor Black
I know the common sense approach to using the same brand of paint (brands versus type, i.e. lacquer) but I am wondering any other specific reasons.
I am pretty sure Ed didn't use Schwinn white and black so why the importance on brands or is it just that it works better.

Your paint is the exact as I used haven't used red yet, but will. As for wimbeldon white its your preference. I think it looks to creamed ad in some white on the franky, is pretty white. So I chose to go with and off white that still looks aged but still is white. Because after aging later it may look weird IMO. I went with duplicolor performance white, you can check out my build too see how it works, and I will be using it for the second try in that thread.
As for same paints it helps because there made to adhese the best to eachother. But as long as there the same paint (laquer on laquer, enamel on enamel) you should be fine. Some people have there opinions, I've never had a problem using different brand laquers just don't put enamel on laquer or vice versa. For example at the first attempt in my build I used all duplicolor laquer, for the second try I used rust oleum black laquer and I'm putting the same duplicolor white on as we'll as the same red. Hope this helps  its all but preference for white just check out the other good builds also for help |
