Post subject: Best Franky Body Musikraft or KNE? Vote Here...  PostPosted: May 12, 2012 - 12:02 AM

Hey,

I was just wondering as of May 11, 2012.

Who makes the best 1 piece Northern Ash
Franky bodies?

Musikraft or KNE Guitars?

I'll probably go with a Musikraft neck but I
am not sure how compatible the KNE bodies
are with the Musikraft necks.

I have heard of intonation problems, alignment
of the high E etc.

Any input from current builders would be
great...

What body and neck combo would you use
and why?

Pro and cons?

Thanks...

Well,.... I had a first generation KNE body that didn't come with the ghost routes. the pivot post holes were drilled wrong and I had to shave out a lot of wood to make the floyd come down level with the body.

Apparently the new KNE bodies are greatly improved, there's a few guys here who have them and love them.

It would be great to hear from someone who
has purchased a KNE body recently...

I am leaning towards Musikraft at the moment.

It would be a real hassle to have to fix the body
to make it work.

I purchased my kne body this april, and comparing it to builds like steves and pcr's and tops, it looks pretty darn good. Neck pockets aready have the indent on the top of the guitar and in the actual neck pocket itself. The ghost routes are perfect, as for floyd sitting flush there's nothing that's seems to me that would be a problem. I'm new with floyds and building frankys. But that's my two cents. You can see the bare wood itself in my build thread, but I'm not sure if that helps. You but I def can guarentee it'd be better than scorchs, first gerneration body.

Hope this helps Smile

Anytime man, I think as of now its personal opinion which ever you wanna try you know. Unless you've built a franky before you won't really be able to tell which is better. Unless we have two pics of the guitar.

Do you have a link to the thread with the KNE body?

I saw a thread with a divebomb body.

yea sure man, in the beginning I described getting a divebomb, but that was before the whole divebomb bad thread came into play and was about the time that everyone here pretty much knew his products were gone for a bit due to bad shipping not sending products and or no refunds. But if you read later on I describe getting a kne, any ways here's the link.

Body comes into play on the 9th page before ever getting painted.
http://halen.com/evh/index.php?name=PNp ... ;start=120

Btw this should already be on page 9. And this is a 2 piece northern ash not a 1 piece.

I have tried KNE (Old and New Style) and Musikraft. The New style KNE is bang on and IMO, the KNE Bodies sounded better. They are a little brighter sounding and seemed to sustain slightly better.

I can vouch for the brightness and sustain of a KNE northern ash, my build sustains longer than a les paul !!
