This pup comes with long poles, are they meant to touch body or go into body?
would poles going into body affect tone in some way?

just curious,

Jeff

If your talking about the pole screws. AKA these

The only reason they should be touching the body is if your trying to body mount it with the original plate and not a long leg plate like the one pictured.

What exactly are you doing with the pick up??

Is it in a franky? If so you need a long legged plate, or wood shims to get it high enough for the strings.

If its in a pickguard then the springs and screws provided should raise it up.

They shouldn't really be touching the body on any guitar. The pick up should have to be high enough to get good string resonance.

But if its set up how you want it and there touching the body or digging in it won't effect any thing..

Please let me or us know the situation.

So I or some one else can you further help to answer your question.

Hopefully I have.

Cheers,
Byron

Thanks Byron,
I was wondering because ive never had seen the poles that long before. I have one that went into my Frankenstrat and I did transfer the pick up to a long legged plate. wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything else as far as the installation.

Oh ok no all you have to do is resolder the braided wire (ground ) to the long legged and your good . Most seymours and gibsons uncovered pickups I've seen have had poles stick out.

Your welcome if theres any other questions you ahave feel free to ask.

Cheers,
Byron
