Post subject: The Guitar ManEVH Book (Japan), where to get a copy or 2?  PostPosted: Aug 01, 2010 - 06:22 AM

Was wondering if anybody has and would be willing to sell me a mint copy of that Japanese book, The Guitar Man (2008)? The one with all the front and back pics of EVH's known guitars over the years.

If not, anybody know where I can get one? Minus any ridiculous price tag?

I had a copy from 2008, but it got ruined during an boiler unit leak that flooded my basement flood in 2009.

Thanks so much!!

It's a good book about EVH's extended line up of guitars written in Japanese. Has a lot of the vintagekramer.com guitars, and some nice pics of Ed's Music Man prototypes. Even the unfinished ones. Japanese articles on the Fender Frankie, etc. It actually has the back of the Rasta guitar from what I remember.

Great for pics, if you don't read Japanese.

Oh an thanks for the lead. Yeah, Google has nothing. I tried Google and Yahoo also.

I've got it. I got it from "young - guitar" on ebay a couple of years back. From memory, I paid about $40 or $45 US for it.

Good luck in your search in finding another copy. If I see any around, I'll let you know.

I had one that was red, and had the 5150 on the cover, and it came with a DVD of this Japanese guy E.D. Von Halen. He was the best Eddie Impersonator i have ever seen. Came with tabs and taught you how to play all the classic van halen licks

That's the one Dutchie...
The one with the 5150 on the cover is a magazine if I recall correctly.

I talked to Tadashi, the author, a while back and managed to get a hold of some JPGs as well as a roughly translated version in English. I used pieces of it for my thesis. Great stuff, really, if you manage to get one, grab it!

Obviously, I'll just say right away that I am NOT available to distribute it, since the author specifically asked me that and I repect both him and his work. Tadashi a great, wonderful peerson and deserves all the respect.
