Tried one out about 3 months ago at GC...seemed to play ok, pickups kinda hot, neck similar profile to my axis but is coated (not unfinished/smooth as axis). Then I took a look down the neck from the bridge and realized the neck was twisted almost 1/2 inch clockwise. Showed the salesguy, he loosened the truss rod and gave it back to me, "here try it now". I said forget it, better send it back to musicman, that neck was shot. I got on the EBMM forum, posted my experience (thread was locked right away, with admonishment from EBMM about posting quality issues). Sent PM to Sterling US distributor, he replied saying they would contact the GC store and have the lemon sent back to the factory. 3 months later, its still hanging in GC, bent neck and all. I'd stay away from that stuff. BTW, the maple top is a thin slice of veneer not real chunk of maple.

I recomend a real EBMM axis if you like that neck profile, they are really nice guitars (have two). And the quilted maple tops are gorgeous (and real). Get a used one, much cheaper. Thinking about selling my red axis....
