First off growing up in the 70's The first time I heard a Kiss Album I was hooked..Ace Frehley Rocked my world I wanted a 3 humbucker les paul that smoked..But then in 1981 I first head EVH's eruption....my life was changed.. gone was my wish for a Les paul ..I wanted a super strat ...Well many years have passed since then and I have totaly been disapointed by both of my favorite bands. Kiss Hired a Ace impersonator. And Van Halen is no where to be found..I love the Dave era And The Sammy Era,and at least with either singer they put out albums every year or so..I got to meet Eddie Alex Mike and Gary thanks to the Ampeg Rep that serviced the Music Store I managed here in good old Canton Ohio. and they we're so nice to all of their fans.
I can tell you as a fan, and a guitar player Eddie made me want to be better player . But now I have no faith in VH .. Eddie seems to have given up on music and gone into the gear business...I own 8 Peavey wolfgangs , and have played at least a dozen of the new EVH wolfgangs.... I'll stick with the peaveys...they play better and feel like a quality product.
I hate to be a Debbie Downer...but thats my 2 cents |

1st off,...nice collection of Peavey Wolfs there...!!! Got any bigger pics though??!!!
Your frustration is shared by alot of fans, many here have echoed your words. I'm not gonna come down on VH so much these days. Unfortunatly, it's getting to be the norm policy that VH keeps their fans in the dark about most developments. Every now & then, some radio-station DJ will say something like :"....heard that Eddie & Co. were actually recording,....jamming on stage with,........saw Eddie talking to ..........VH's Rep said that the band will be,......" It's all become a song & dance of sorts.
Eddie's legacy speaks for itself. He is responsiblie for giving the electric guitar & it's players a GODZILLA-size kick-in-the-butt through VH I to FAIR WARNING. My deal is that I'm just gonna wait till next year to see if VH puts out anything worth the wait. In the meantime, there are other great players & there is great music from other OLDER bands that may help maintain us until VH DAY arrives. |
