Post subject: I'm Screwed please help!!!Frankenstrat body  PostPosted: Dec 05, 2009 - 12:13 AM

Well i made a frankenstrat body in woodshop and the necks almost done and this happened.... i was using a regular old drill and screwed up my guitar the holes are like schreded up up top and i got a a little to happy witha chisel a little earlier and messed up the body. anyway to patch up the stud whole for the floyd so theyll hold??? any help would be greatly appreciated thank you!

a bigger picture will help. im not the one to tell you how, but im sure someone will be along to help. i dont believe this is the first time this has happened. ive seen this problem fixed before on this site.dont panic....help is on the way!!!!!!!!!!1

The hole is all shreded up and it looks like someone took a hacksaw to the hole because theres like a line going across it and by the way is the wood piece for the studs too small? id hate to have to make another body maybe someone has a wood sealant or strong wood putty i can buy.... any ideas wood be amazing. thanks ratfink

if the hole is messed up you just need to fill it with a dowel i believe and start over.

m afraid thats the pieces where the studs go is gonna crack of is there any way i can make a brakcets or something to hols it because i installed a floyd on a charvel strat and the piece just like that completely snapped off...but it might have been because i carved the spring cavity out with a chisel mighta cracked something in there...
