| Incase you didn't know, Brian May of Queen does not use a pick, he uses some sort of British coin, always has- maybe that's where Ed got the idea from. It's a great way to get a sharp, biting tone but I imagine it's hell on the strings!<br><br>Poostin |

I remember seeing ads in the guitar mags about 10-12 years ago or metal picks. Don't see them much any more.<br><br>  |

i used to use a 2p coin when i first started playing hehe simply because i kept dropping my picks inside the guitar and loosing them  |

this is a little thing called "denial" boys and girls...it's a clever bit of mental manipulation that allows Edward to "think" he can continue to smoke without consequnce...it also aids in<br>keeping people off his back when someone gives him greif for smoking...this is also reflected in his choice of booze these days. another trick in the addicts tool box of denial, "I switched from beer to wine...it's actually considered a food"!...B.S.!!! it is his life however so whatever...I just marvel at the many silly topics of debate on this website....seems like 16 magazine sometimes:)  metal pick? that's a good one Ed! |

| Just get over it everybody-Like the EAGLES song-so-it was caused by metal picks,great...heavy metal cancer mayby,or mayby he dipped SKOAL secretly (thats my guess) I mean look at his top teeth,thats a sighn of knawing the ole dirt aint it all worn away like the appalachian hillbillies you see,BUT my teeth are like that too and I finally narrowed it down what caued it-It was playing drums with my teeth writing new songs(anybody do that?)its an uncontrollable habit-if you do it right you can make stereo tom rolls and killer snare sounds right in your head uhh zz top uses metal picks in the form of Mexican quarters to get the edge sound...your deal'n with an LA dude thats tried everything and did it all beyond anyone..God bless Edward..just get off that black metal sound and return and you will be healed... |

| Well how Eddie did get cancer is neither here or there. And tongue cancer is not genetic.<br><br>He probably did get it from smoking and drinking. Other people who do the same may never get it, you just never know.<br><br>I know about this because I had it when I was 24. Much more severe than Eddies was. I did not smoke or drink or chew, but I did smoke alot of pot. My doctor reasoned this is probably why I got it and I do believe it. <br><br>I was given the advice to never smoke anything again and I haven't after all I went through. What Eddie chooses to do his totally his business. But I do hope for his sake the cancer won't return and he have to endure more treatment. <br><br>I am totally well now, but with lots of scars and half my tongue removed. But noone would ever know cause I speak fine. I thank the good Lord for this. So I say to Eddie, I hope you stay well and will take care of yourself. And continue to ROCK our world!!!!<br><br> |
