I usually shim a low nut just high enough so the strings don't buzz off the 1st few frets. take a guitar, fret it at the first fret, see the clearance of the string above the 2nd fret? now match THAT clearance to the first fret with the open string using your shims.

Well, now that I ordered the body, the next step is the neck. Any ideas? I'm looking for a mix ( I guess) . I want to do as close to the original and not run into problems. Also, I need to know the stripe sizes and the best paint choices ( color match and quality) Thanks : Heeeeerre we go

Ok body on the way. Now when it comes, a) do I prep it? If so, how. B) Where can I find 1/4 inch tape. All I can find is 3/4. Next is color. I got Duplicolor Gloss Black, Olympic white and Flame Red. I'm not 100% sure on the red. What is the correct red? Thanks

I kinda did mine halfway with the prepping, i did some filling, but no enough because i was still seeing the grain after I spray the black.

check several hardware stores, walmart, hobby stores for that tape. If you still can't find it, lay a piece of 3/4 on a piece of glass it cut it at 1/4" slices out of it with an exacto knife like I had to.

The concensus here is that Super Red II is the best color for it. however...I used Flash Red on my build, because it was the closest matching color I could find locally.

Also, if you want the real thing for reference as far as the bottom edge goes, here's a pretty good pic

Question, has anyone dealt with Divebomb? I ordered a Franky pickguard and reliced switch last Monday, and have not heard from them. They said they had them onhand. I've asked for a tracking # and no response. Thanks

Ok... maybe I guess I gotta look in another direction for the reliced switch and pickguard. Any ideas? Also, when getting a KNE Franky body, are there any adjustments that need to be cut for the Floyd rose with the brass block? In other words, do I have to route? Thanks
