I got mine from Ed Roman when they first came out. I had called up Ed about something else when he asked me if I'd heard about the new Ti Floyd (I bought enough Floyds from him throughtout the years for him to realize that I would be interested!). I said "Yeah, but aren't those going to go for $1500?" Ed laughed and said "Honestly, I don't know what the price will be, but you can have it for $600." I ordered it on the spot. Today they go for $899!

Does it really make that much a difference?
It does make a difference in terms of harmonics and clarity, but I recommend to anyone that's even thinking of getting one to simply install a Ti big block first and take it from there. It's not for everyone and it has to be "matched" to a particular body.
I installed that Ti Floyd on several of the other bodies and it did not sound good. When I put it on the Blue franky it sounded great. Go figure. |

Love that grouping... awesome.
That Ti Floyd is just lovely - tickles my hardware-loving bone... =]
And it's parked on one of my favourite alternative-build Franky style instruments of all time, the Blue Franky...
Great shots...
(BTW: I believe that Michael J Fox shot would be related to the movie Light Of Day that he did with Joan Jett... one of the songs from that movie has actually been stuck in my head ever since... I believe it's called 'This Means War' - a rock song, with an almost ballad-ish verse structure... but not a power ballad exactly... but features an EMaj7 suggestion in its chords that really embedded in my head... and Michael got to do his own playing for that one, I understand; he was overdubbed for BTTF...) |

The Ti Floyd...
... is an amazing piece of precision hardware considering how hard Ti is to work with. Is it overkill? Yeah. 
IMO, a Ti big block in conjunction with a production Floyd is enough to allow for a different tonal experience.
As for the Blue Franky, I've been considering doing a third version... |

| wow again, loving that 83 blue, it's like a really cool art series. and loving the hair! that white one is a stunner. i said white/white, but that's a mint guard right? great mix of vintage/modern. been thinking of turning one of my non-franks from natural to mary kay white and i think this just tipped the scales. seriously big respect for your work jimi. |

The hair was introduced to a pair of scissors and a razor not too long after that picture was taken! And yes, it's remarkable how much it looks like a production Charvel Art Series... from 21 years earlier!

No. I'm going to leave the "bizarro red and orange switcheroo" configuration (notice also that where the "mystery" blue paint appears on the Original, I put red paint on mine! )...
I plan to use that set for Blue Franky #3!
