Crap! Ran into another paint issue. After I sprayed the red, I waited about an hour before removing the tape. When I did, the red and silver both pulled away from the primer. Damnit!! I think it may be because I used a can of silver I bought 2 years ago to start, but I can't be sure. The good news is the manufacturer is sending me replacement cans to redo the job. Just sucks because I spent a good 2 hours just on the masking! Trying again probably next weekend! Sad

Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!!!!!!!!!

Wow that hurts...I know how frustrating it is...

A shark is too sweet though...it will be worth it all in the end.

Picking this back up...I got really discouraged after the paint issue and couldn't stand to look at the thing. But now, I've scraped/peeled the paint off to the primer; the paint separated from the primer very easily. Therefore, I'm going to sand off the primer to the original, roughed finish, rough it a little more, and paint directly onto that surface, bypassing the stupid primer.
One break, coming up!!

Can you share what the measurements were for both the shark bite cut and the tip removal? I plan to cut mine this week.

Thanks!

Legal Replica Guitars
In light of recent cease and desist letters sent to certain builders by FMIC/Fender, I created a post on Halen.com's stance on the legal and fair-use building of replica guitars.

Happy Easter!
