Thanks Tops! Yeah it's crazy isn't it? you spend all that time getting stripes to look "right" and do a nice paint job all the while visioning in your minds eye how you need to scrape a lot of it back off |

Yeah if nothing else it adds that "special" grease that you need on the wood
Dude, EXACTLY the grease from the pizza, does help with the building process.
Your relicing is looking great btw! Really liking how it looks. Did you just use razor blades and a dremmal? It amazing me how all of you replicate this so well, and makes me nervous that i may not be able to do as well in mine.
Have you decided what type of red your doing? |

Thanks for the kind words. As far as relicing? Well exacto knives, chisel, screwdrivers, files of various types, green scrubby pads, scraper...but NO dremel. As far as color I may use Super Red 2 or one of the other colors Topsportsmanta1 figured out made the schwinn bike color. I'll have to test some things out on this one. I want it to be a step up from all my previous builds. |

Hey guys...Just thought I would throw this out here. If you are using Duplicolor for your black and white paint they make this little beauty. So if you go to far in relicing the back area and need to put some black back in, instead of taping up and spraying it you can just roll it on with the pen like tip and let dry, then take a green scrubby to level it out to match existing black and then go at it again. Works like a charm....now I wonder if I might try to mess around on a block of wood with using these little things for hazing....hmmm at least it's wortha try
Also just wanted to throw up a pic of my decal for the beak neck coming today...can't wait to get it in! Now I have to take a pointy eraser to the letters to wear them away like Ed's decal....slow and steady or I'll have to get another...ha ha ha |
