So The Boss sold 196,000 copies to Adele's 195,000 copies for that week. Close one!

According to VHND, Adele's album had been selling about 100,000 copies a week prior to the VH release. 187,000 first week sales by VH would have blown here out of the water. They state "But last week was the perfect storm for megastar Adele. She was on the cover of People magazine, was interviewed on 60 Minutes, and not only performed on the Grammys, but won six Grammy trophies! Her sales immediately shot up 95%, surpassing Van Halen’s on the last day of the sales week." D'oh! Bad timing it seems! Or, Adele's management could see the VH album release on the radar and did all they could to keep her reign going. If the latter, they were successful.

| All I know is the only new CD I have bought in the last 6 months is the new VH CD .. unless somebody new can play the @%*&* out of a guitar ,, I dont want it.. ED .. and Dave,Alex and wolfie made this a great CD.. Who is this ALDE.. might have to chek that out.. thats all I hear on here.. does he play guitar? |

Again, they have to market more effectively. Ed, Al and Wolfie are granting ZERO interviews and Dave is on a leash. They're banking on a tour and XM/Sirius to promote. Agree,..use "promotion" to your max advantage. The only problem, as mentioned, is that Ed doesn't want to talk or answer the obvious questions that will come up. You would think that all of the Talk Shows hosts would be smart enough to oblige but I can see them play the "dumb-host" routine and ask Ed,.."..so tells us who's in the band now?..." etc.
Two other things though,..there maybe a sense of preference from the hosts. Don't forget that while Sammy was in, they did the Talk Show tour regularly.
The other is for the better is some part; Eddie just gives bad interviews IMO.... |

Plus, I don't think Ed is interested in talking about why Mikey's not in, that's a question that will be raised. Or his rehab from a few years back.
I noticed that during the press conference before their 07/08 tour. One journalist asked how Ed's playing has changed since his did rehab... He answered by saying that "it's ALWAYS changing". Talking about the drinking problems Ed had is not that easy for him, I guess.
An interview with Ed will lead to those questions about rehab, alcohol, Wolfie vs. Mike, questions about Sammy...
If this is the case (which I think it is), I can totally relate.
But yeah, I agree with you that =VH= should do so much more marketing and promotion, playing late night shows etc. |

| Actually my post was just an inside joke.. I know who Adelle is and that its a she..When I was attending MIT for guitar school sessions (Hollywood blvd LA) in 1987 I got the rare oppurtunity to personally see and be taught guitar lessons by Jennifer Batten.. She was definitly a she and could play the hell out of an EVH style 2 hand hammer on playing.. I guess I was just having a thought.. This site is still called the unofficial Eddie Van Halen site in the sub title.. I guess I was just thinkin that the official news should be rooting for our main man EVH and that other artist (Though great like Adelle) should be in another cat.. Where the hell is Andre...? he almost banned me one time.. I was wrong on a subject I posted a cupla years ago.. Thanks Andre.. you were right.. I was wrong for saying that stuff.. Rock on EVH |

Adelle is a woman, and no, I don't think she's plays an instrument, but she sings like crazy! She's pretty good, for the genre` of music she does!!
